Under leaden skies, Ed Micham, our viticulturist, shows Robert how he goes about gentle pruning — the system which courts not cutting into wood more than two years old thereby enabling the sap in the trunk to rise without hitting an impasse. The result makes for a healthier vine. Robert has the electric pruners — dangerous in the wrong hands.
