Nature has taken no notice of the fact that homo sapiens’s world has come to a  grinding halt.

Following some fine dry weather in April the vine buds are shooting ahead and showing 2 leaves or more. Now is the time to select the spur for next year ,and remove any secondary buds from the cane. Thining primary buds  for good nodal distance will be left for the end of the month.

This was taken on 5 May. Bud burst in the Pinot Noir field was about 2 weeks ago and it is amazing how quickly they have progressed.
